Getting Around the Greater Canton Area
Canton is one of Baltimore's great waterfront neighborhoods, easily accessed from 95 (Boston Street or Keith Avenue exits) or 895 (O'Donnell St or Boston Street exits). There are many great restaurants and shops that are walkable. Most Canton residents and visitors use a car to get to places outside of the neighborhood. There are currently no residential parking permits required to park on the street. But sometimes parking can be difficult to find in the evenings and weekends. But there are some great options for those without a car or those who prefer not to drive.
Car Share & Hourly Rentals
Uber and Lyft legally operate in Maryland- with vehicles and drivers licensed and inspected by the state. Both companies offer rides from privately owned vehicles driven by their owners similar to a taxi. They are the best way to get around without having to worry about parking relatively inexpensively. There are plenty of cars available and you rarely have to wait for more than 5 minutes for one to arrive. Most rides to anywhere in Baltimore are about $5-$8. From BWI airport to Canton is about $15-20. You can download the apps on any smart phone.
